Professor Josep Jornet has been recently appointed as the Chair of the Terahertz Communications Special Interest Group at the IEEE Radio Communications Committee.
The Terahertz Communications Special Interest Group (SIG) at IEEE aims to advance research and development in Terahertz (THz) communications for 6G and beyond. THz frequencies offer promising possibilities, such as high data rates and secure transmissions. Despite challenges like propagation losses, the group seeks to address them through discussions, resources, workshops, and standardization activities. The objective is to foster seamless connectivity and explore the potential of THz communications in future wireless networks.
